Before I discovered gentle morning habits for midlife women, my mornings felt chaotic and reactive. As soon as I opened my eyes I would reach for my phone and then doom scrolling would begin. Desperate for a wee, half an hour later I would use the bathroom and maybe go and open the curtains and blinds. Then it was straight back to picking up the phone, because “I am going to put music on” would be the thought in my head. Another 45 minutes later, still no music on, not dressed, not done any of my normal morning routines and now I was late!!

So to change all that, I started with five minutes of quiet before checking my phone (and now I actually try not to pick up my phone at all until I am at least dressed, completed my daily creaming routine and brushed my hair at least!).

For extra gentleness to my mornings: some days I journal, sometimes I just sit. I’ve noticed that it helps me feel like my day starts on my terms—not everyone else’s.

Gentle morning habits for midlife women aren’t about productivity—they’re about presence. They’re a quiet rebellion against the rush, the noise, and the pressure to perform. They remind us that we deserve softness, even in the smallest moments. And that’s where transformation begins.
